About Laura
Laura Hope-London is an American director, actor, writer, producer and academic currently based in the Southeast.
She is the founding artistic director of Wanderlust: Theatre on Location.
She holds a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts,
an MFA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK
and a PhD from Florida State University.
In addition to her professional creative industry work, Laura currently serves as Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she helms their Musical Theatre program.




Academia
Laura London Waringer is Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she helms their BFA Musical Theatre program.
She previously served as Assistant Professor of Directing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she helped create their Musical Theatre program.
She recently earned her PhD in Theatre and Performance Research from the School of Theatre at Florida State University.
Her research focus includes representations of race and gender in musical theatre, theatrical adaptation, site-specific performance, and the evolution of musical theatre training at academic institutions.
Her creative research focuses on the work of her non-profit site-specific theatre company, Wanderlust: Theatre on Location, which she founded in 2018.
For this work, she has been awarded grants from the Florida Division of Arts & Culture, the Council on Culture & Arts, the LeonCares Foundation, the North Carolina Arts & Science Council, the Center for Heritage, Community & the Arts, and several faculty research grants.
She is currently developing her dissertation, Triple Threat: A Study of American Musial Theatre Training, into a book project.

Coaching

Laura is an experienced acting and vocal coach whose clients range from young students to Broadway professionals. She specializes in vocal technique, acting through song, musical repertoire, monologue coaching, scene study, and audition, college, & recital preparation.
She has taught for Stagecoach Theatre Arts in London, The After the Storm Foundation, and The Margate Players Summer Youth Theatre, and as a founding instructor at Making Light Productions.
